Stuff...stuff...more of it.

Sun Apr 29, 2007, 8:36 PM
So...it's been a while, and a lot of stuff has happened. I don't know if I'm going to end up summarizing things, or drawing them out to an endless description of my life like I usually do. By the looks of things so far, it's going to be the latter.

Anyway, I got a new car. Well...not really 'new,' it's my dad's old 95 Toyota Camry, but it's 'new' in the sense that it's mine now. We got a new (actually used, but, again, new in the sense that it's ours) Lexus that will be used as my dad's business car, and considering that business is all my dad uses a car for anyway, that will be his main mode of transportation.

As far as the Camry goes, I hate the radio in it, so pretty soon I'll be swapping it out for the superior one in my ex-vehicle. My dad seemed attached to it, but considering that the volume and tuning is controlled by push-buttons instead of knobs, I have no idea how to pump up the bass, and it is severely lacking in LEDs, it's going, going, gone.

Speaking of which, baseball has started.

Whoop-de freaking doo.

I'll root for my home team, the Mariners, but ever since their 2002 season I've given up hope on 2001 ever happening again, so I started not caring. In case you live in a hole/don't know much about baseball, the Mariners pretty much cleaned everybody's clocks in 2001 in everything but the games that mattered. We tied the all-time record for most wins in a season, getting 117 of them, Ichiro Suzuki won about a dozen or so awards, and I wrote a parody of "I'm a Believer" to celebrate. If anybody can get me a karaoke track of the Smash Mouth version maybe I'll record it sometime. Who knows.

Back to things I care about right now though, which would be the things taking up every single second of my time. There's actually two of them right now, the school musical and Pokemon Diamond. It isn't uncommon at all to see me working on both at once. I'm in the musical, Zombie Prom, as the father of the main character who gets to make a 'cameo' and is never seen again. I'm also in the ensemble as well, so I'm not restricted to just saying my three lines and running away. I would tell you to come, but the only people watching me who live nearby I'm pretty sure already were planning on going at least once, and the rest of you live hundreds of miles away, meaning that it would be pretty creepy to see you there. No offense.

As far as Pokemon goes, I could walk right in and challenge the seventh gym leader right now, but instead I'm doing some side dungeon that I missed a while back somehow. The game is pretty awesome, but what they've done to some of my favorite Pokemon sort of disappoints me. Gastly, one of my all-time favorites, has two level one moves, Hypnosis and Lick. The lowest level you can catch it at is level twelve. Between level one and twelve it learns three moves (which I can't remember, meaning they are unimportant). Because that's five moves in total, and Hypnosis is in the 'learned moves' list before Lick, it is considered obsolete when the fifth one comes around, and gets deleted before you ever have a chance to use it, meaning the only way to get the ultimate Gastly/Haunter/Gengar Hypnosis-Dream Eater-Shadow Ball-Some other move combo is to breed your Gastly to get it as a level one baby. When did I learn that Hypnosis wasn't a possibility for my ghost to learn though? When it was a level 35 Gengar! That means that if I want it to know hypnosis, I have to breed it, raise the baby from level one back to twenty five to get a Haunter, trade it with a friend to make it a Gengar which gets better stat increases than a Haunter, and then raise it up to 35! It took the whole game to get it to level 35 once! Now I've got to do it a second time! That, plus the fact that I've become emotionally attached to my Gengar (unfortunately that happens...), means that there is only a slim chance that I will end up bringing myself to do it, giving up Hypnosis forever, which SUCKS!

Geez. Way to let a guy down.

I also am borrowing The Stand by Stephen King from the library. The complete and uncut edition, by the way. It's pretty freaking awesome, but unfortunately for it, Pokemon came out just a week after I got the book, meaning it's just sitting on my bed waiting for the due date to come and go and the late fees to start stacking up, because everybody knows that the proper time to return a book to the library is when you have about $10 of late fees piled up on it.

That went long...again. I should start posting a word count at the end of these to see how long they end up going...as a matter of fact, I think I'll start that now.

Word count: 882 (not including this at the end...of course this would probably bump it up to a nice 900...because I can't shut up.)

  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: The Black Mages
  • Reading: The Stand by Stephen King
  • Watching: Heroes, Lost, Jericho, random animes
  • Playing: Pokemon Diamond
  • Eating: Mediterranean Grill
  • Drinking: Root Beer
