Hello, all! I wanted to pop by and apologize to anyone who was counting on any of the things I mentioned in my last journal actually happening. I could be your super-generic DA/Facebook/Online Forum/whatever-else-there-is-on-the-internet guy and blame life...but no. I'm just lazy. And distracted. I will admit that I have been busier than my usual state of busy lately, I'm taking 18 credits this quarter with 13 required to graduate with my Associate in Science at the end of the quarter (Linear Algebra, Dynamics, and Electrical Circuits being those classes), and five because the University of Washington wants five more writing credits from transfer students than my school right now needs for a student to graduate. And I really want to get into UW.
The interesting part is what those last five writing credits are. Interesting because I'm taking a writing fiction class for those last five writing credits. Unfortunately, nothing so far and nothing in the foreseeable future will allow me to overlap S-OCT and my writing class, but that doesn't mean that the class hasn't gotten me in the mood to write for S on more than one occasion. Funnily enough, the first time I went back to my little between-rounds chapter, it was because my teacher had us read this really weird children's story that she doted on and applied various adjectives such as 'timeless', 'charming', and 'adorable' to, when in reality it was one of the most boring, dully-crafted, and backwards-moralled children's books I've ever read. It was called Frederick, if anyone reading this has ever read it. About a mouse who would rather gather things like the colors and words for the winter than silly things like...you know, FOOD MAYBE?
...Anyway, I wanted to work on that story's antithesis, so I got working on my little Round 1.5. If you need more of a teaser than "It should be here in the next few weeks," I guess I could tell you that it's titled The Late Arrival. So there's that.
But I did want to mention that I'm going to be posting things again! Things from my Writing Fiction class! Mostly I wanted to make this journal to let people know that just because I'm posting writing that isn't S related, doesn't mean I'm dropping S, and then it morphed into strange tales and side-rants and all this stuff you've trudged through. Congratulations! You get a medal, and you now know the true meaning of Christmas. I mean, you now know the true meaning of this journal. My first piece done for the class (just a single scene) will be up momentarily, if it isn't already up when you're reading this. I hope you enjoy it!
